January is all about new beginnings and celebrations. As we think about New Year’s resolutions — whether it’s being more social, moving to a new country, traveling more, or trying out a new hobby — this month’s InterNations events continue to inspire us. New Year Events That Sparkle in January
On 29 December, the Amsterdam Community got together at an official event to say goodbye to 2023. As they bid farewells to the old and greeted the new, what is better than dressing up, feeling the vibes, and celebrating with your fellow expats?
Expats in Doha also met on New Year’s Eve to celebrate together as the clock struck midnight and the calendar turned its page! The New Year’s party took place at the Spezzi Pool Bar with a DJ and an open bar. Judging by the pictures, starting the new year with fellow expats was certainly a lot of fun! So, let’s hope the saying is true: “As it begins, so it continues.”
During the first week of January, the Tokyo DinnerNations Group got together to start the new year with style! A stroll in the newly-opened Azabudai Hills area was followed by eating fresh and delightful Asian dishes at Torapirica.
On 13 January, the Hong Kong Karaoke & Singing Group gathered for a New Year karaoke party — a fun evening of singing, wine, and good food. And meeting new international friends in a relaxing atmosphere was definitely the cherry on top!
New Year’s Resolution: Healthier Habits!
Making resolutions for the new year is a tradition for many — and healthy living can often be found at the top of that list. But regardless of your motivation and timing, getting active is never a bad idea.
The Brussels Move Your Body and Soul Group is very aware of that fact — and started the year with a sporty morning hike on 7 January along the beautiful Foret de Soignes.
Creative Start: Artsy Events in January
On 6 January, the Stockholm City Trotters Group stepped into the glitz and glamour of the Roaring Twenties. They attended the world’s number 1 Gatsby Party by world class entertainer Frank Martini and his orchestra, where the spirit of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel came to life.
And on 12 January, the Bangkok Arts & Culture Group met to explore three fascinating galleries on a Friday afternoon walk through the side streets between Ratchadamri and Ploenchit BTS.
